Project SEARCH Hamilton has two host business sites:
The HWDSB Education Centre began in September 2020, followed by the Downtown Hamilton YMCA and YWCA in September 2022. In September 2023, the site at HWDSB’s Education Centre transitioned to the Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre/Hamilton General Hospital within Hamilton Health Sciences. Both sites provide positive and enriching experiences for the Interns.
Possible internship experiences may include:
- Customer Service
- Administration Duties
- Facilities/housekeeping support and grounds maintenance
- Clerical/filing/data entry
- Organizing/cataloguing/maintaining inventory
- Collection and distribution of mail
- Support laundry services
- Youth engagement
- Event preparation
