Welcome Back!

Dear Mountview Families,

Welcome back! I hope everyone has had the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful summer weather we’ve had these last few months. I know many of you have questions and concerns regarding the HWDSB back to school plan, specifically our Mountview plan. As a parent and as the Principal of Mountview, I want you to know I understand your fears and concerns. We have been working diligently to ensure our start up is as smooth as possible and is safe for students, families, and staff. In the coming week, I will be posting a plan specific to Mountview. This will answer your questions and address your concerns. Our First Day plan and our dismissal protocols will be detailed.

If you have not subscribed to our school website, I strongly encourage you to do so at www.hwdsb.on.ca/mountview.  The website will provide you with the most current information from the school and from the Board.

We also have a school Instagram account. Please follow us @mountview_hwdsb.

Below you will find a few pieces of information that may be helpful as you prepare your family for the new school year.

  1. All students are required to wear medical or non-medical grade masks. Please speak with your child on how to safely store their mask during outdoor time. Eg. Lanyard, paper bag
  2. Students are asked to bring a labelled water bottle from home as we are not using water fountains. We will be using the hydration station to fill water bottles.
  3. There will be no changing for gym –  students must dress suitably for PE classes/DPA each day.
  4. Please do not send any materials (markers, crayons etc.) to school. Individual educators will let you know which supplies your student will need.
  5. We will not be using the lockers when we return to school. This will help minimize congestion in the halls. Please send your child with a back pack. It will hang on the back of their chair during the day. Please ensure  everything brought to school is necessary and will fit inside the zipped backpack.

The Staff at Mountview is looking forward to a great year and seeing everyone after such a long time away from school.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Shanlin and the Mountview Staff
