September School Reorganization Information

Dear Parents/Guardians:

RE: Class Reorganization

Each fall, HWDSB reviews elementary student enrolment in schools, and reorganizes staffing if actual enrolment differs from spring projections. It is normal for student enrolment to fluctuate a little.

This year, the fall reorganization is more widespread due to the in-person/remote option for students, as well as the ongoing need to meet provincial class size requirements.

Specifically, at our school, the reorganization will mean:

• Changing our Grade 2 class to a split ½ class. Mrs. Bottrell will be teaching this class.
• Creating an additional combined Grade 3/4 class. Mrs. Vansickle will be teaching this class.
• Ms. Watkins will be teaching our second Grade ¾ combined class.
• Mr. Cook will be teaching our Grade 6 class.
• Changing our Grade 4/5 combined class to a Grade 5 class. Mrs. Duhlaku will teach this class.
• Welcoming additional prep coverage teachers.
• Moving students into and out of classes in order to reduce class sizes or balance classes.

A message/envelop will be sent home with students who are moving on Friday, September 30^th.

Moves to new classes will be effective as of Friday, October 7th.
