Grade 7 and 8 students and families are invited to visit their future secondary schools and learn more about HWDSB programs at upcoming Grade 7 & 8 Information Nights! Students and families were invited to learn about life in secondary school by attending the Getting Ready for High School Virtual Information Session on October 23, 2024. Viewers learned about what to expect in Grade 9, including information about course selection timelines, Ontario Secondary School Diploma requirements and more. HWDSB elementary schools offer a wide range of learning opportunities to prepare students for success in secondary school and beyond. The Elementary Focus Programs listed below will be accepting applications for the 2025-26 school year starting Monday, October 28, 2024. French Immersion is a proven way of acquiring excellent language skills in French. The French Immersion program at HWDSB is specifically designed for parents who do not speak French, but want their children to speak both official languages. The program is open to HWDSB students starting in Grade 1. Applications for Grade 1 entry into French Immersion are only accepted through the online application form.
