As a parent or guardian of an HWDSB student, you want your child to learn safely using the best tools for the task. Transforming Learning Everywhere (TLE) is a multi-year project that unites effective instructional practices with 21st Century learning and teaching. The goals of 21st Century teaching and learning is to prepare students to love learning, to teach them how to learn and to enable them to face and solve complex challenges now and in the future.

Our distribution plan for the 2017-2018 school year is:

  • Continue 1:1 devices in grades 9-12 at Nora Frances Henderson Secondary School
  • Continue 1:1 devices in grades 4-8 at the seven North Elementary Schools* and 6-8 at Glen Brae Elementary School
  • Continue 1:1 devices in self-contained special education classes
  • Continue shared kits of six devices in grades 4, 5 and 6 and provide shared kits in grade 7 and 8 across all elementary schools
  • Provide 1:1 devices in grades 9 and 10 in all secondary schools
  • Provide 1:1 devices in grades 9, 10 and 11 at Delta and Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary Schools
