At Templemead, we are presently running our first session of Strong Start, a program to reinforce early reading skills. Each week, our faithful volunteers meet with a child to play games and activities which support their reading skills.

Soon we will be starting up a new session (in early February), and we will need more volunteers! If you know someone who might be able to help, please encourage them to contact the school and/or our Reading Specialist ([email protected]) for more information.  You may also call the school and speak with the VP, Mrs. Harvey.

Strong Start coaches need to complete two 2-hour training sessions and commit to volunteering a minimum of 30 minutes per week for 10 weeks.

In return, they receive the knowledge that they have made a difference in the life of a child!   If there is enough interest, we can have a two training sessions here at Templemead.
