Transition Planning for the new school on the Summit Park site – Rescheduled Meeting Date

To help relieve accommodation pressure in upper Stoney Creek, HWDSB will be opening the new school on the Summit Park site in September 2019 (see attached map).

HWDSB received $14.8 in Ministry funding to build a brand new 625 pupil place elementary school near Keystone Cres. And Bellagio Ave. The 18-classroom facility will have dedicated Art, Music and Science Rooms, five Kindergarten classrooms, a learning commons, and gymnasium with stage. The new school will also have a three-classroom childcare facility for infants, toddlers and preschool children.

A Transition Committee has been formed to support a smooth transition of students who will be attending this new school in September. Due to the inclement weather last week, we are rescheduling the first Transition Committee meeting to Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 6 p.m. at Janet Lee Elementary School.

Families are welcome to come to this meeting to observe the discussions and learn about plans for next year.
