Staffing for 2020-2021

Parents & Guardians:

Unlike in previous years, we will not be sharing student class placements with the reports. While some preliminary class planning was done, these plans may not fit with the possible scenarios as outlined by the Province. Given the uncertainties surrounding the upcoming year, classes will not be finalized until the HWDSB has confirmed a protocol based on the directives from the Ministry of Education. Given all the expectations that were shared by the Ministry last week, it will not be until August that the HWDSB will be able to finalize the plan to move forward. Given this timeline, it is prudent to allow school staff the opportunity to review and construct final class lists that make the best sense given the protocols and the needs of students. It would not benefit students to be given provisional information about a class placement and then have it changed later in the summer to meet requirements.

I recognize this is a change form past practice, but given the uncertainty for September, I feel it is best to wait until final plans are made to share class placements with families. The school or Board will be in contact with you in August to confirm information.
