Parent/Guardian Access for Student Material

Parents/Guardians:

Starting Friday, the scheduled access to the school will begin. Be be aware of the following:

  1. Do not enter if you meet any of the Board posted criteria regarding COVID-19 prohibitions. For the health & safety of others, masks are strongly recommended.
  2. Do not come to the school before your scheduled time.
  3. At your scheduled time, line up outside the main doors of the school off the parking lot. Do not try to enter through alternate doors or through the playground. When in line, please maintain social distancing. There will be markers along the wall heading to the main doors to indicate two metre distances.
  4. Unless necessary to identify material, do not have the students enter. If needed, please only bring the needed student. Children not students of the school will not be allowed into the building. Only one adult will be allowed in per family.
  5. Once in the school, we will expect all parents/guardians to move in one direction. Move from the main doors in as direct a motion as possible toward your child’s classroom. For portables, move to the intersection of the halls, turn right and exit the side doors out to the playground. Then make your way across the playground to the proper portable. Do not enter the class if there is someone else in the room. Please wait in the hall/outside the portable until the others exit if this is the case.
  6. Do not linger in the class, the hall or anywhere in the building. Do not stop to socialize inside the building.
  7. Once the materials have been collected, exit the nearest set of doors. In the K area, use the hall doors that exit near the Kindergarten playground. In the primary wing, exit out the doors nearest the portables. For Ms. Dalley’s room, exit out the doors by the office. This will allow for one-way traffic and reduce overlap in the hall as much as possible.
  8. Staff will be supervising classes. Please follow any directions they may give.
  9. If you are collecting for more than one child, please let the staff at the main door as you enter so we can monitor if it is possible to have you visit each of the classes. Again, we cannot have more than one group in a room at a time. If it is crowded you may have to use two scheduled times.
  10. The Board is not allowing us to have Lost and Found material displayed. This will have to be dealt with in September.
  11. If you are late, you may not be allowed to enter.
  12. Please be aware that Friday June 5th and Monday June 8th are VERY heavily booked. There will be little leeway at these times. Your cooperation will be necessary.
  13. We recognize that these expectations are rather strict. However, given the present situation, these are necessary precautions. In addition, this will be a new process as much for staff as for parents/guardians. As a result, we may need to alter expectations if we see that our plans are not being effective. Please keep this in mind as we work through this process.
