New School at Glen – Naming and Transition Letter

Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers of Glen Brae, Glen Echo, Sir Isaac Brock, Sir Wilfrid Laurier (Zone 3), and Elizabeth Bagshaw (Zone 4),

As part of the East Hamilton School Consolidation Plan, a new 682 pupil place JK-8 elementary school is being built next to Glen Brae to accommodate students from Glen Brae, Glen Echo, Sir Isaac Brock, Sir Wilfrid Laurier (Zone 3) and Elizabeth Bagshaw (Zone 4). The anticipated start date for students and staff attending the new school is September 2021. Following the opening of the new school, Glen Brae, Glen Echo, Sir Isaac Brock, and Elizabeth Bagshaw, will be closed.

The Transition Committee, with representation for all of the schools, will be meeting on two occasions to support the opening and closing of schools.

The Naming Committee will be responsible for reviewing the results from the public consultation to provide recommendations for the name of the new school.

Transition Committee Meeting 1 – February 11, 2021 @ 5:00 p.m.

Naming Committee Meeting– February 11, 2021 @ 6:30 p.m.

Transition Committee Meeting 2– April 8, 2021 @ 6:30 p.m.
