Updated: Confirmed Case of COVID-19 at Sherwood Secondary School 

Update (September 29): On September 25, 2021, the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board was informed by Hamilton Public Health Services (HPHS) of an additional COVID-19 exposure. The impacted cohort was directed to isolate. On September 29, HPHS was made aware of a lab processing error and the impacted cohort is no longer required to isolate. Information has been shared with the impacted staff and students and those isolating associated with this case can return to school. This case and outbreak will be removed from the HWDSB COVID-19 Dashboard.

On September 25, Hamilton Public Health Services (HPHS) notified Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) of a positive COVID-19 test result at our school. 

To protect the individual’s privacy, we do not disclose their name. 

School administrators will contact any students or staff identified as close contacts, who will self-isolate for 10 days.  

Families are reminded to screen daily for COVID-19 symptoms using the provincial COVID-19 school and child care screening tool. Parents/guardians/caregivers, as well as students, should use this screening tool to help decide if you or your child/ren should or should not go to school/childcare.
