Share your thoughts on graduation ceremonies in a pandemic

Dear Parents/Guardians/Caregivers of Grade 12 students,

We are using Thoughtexchange to talk about graduation. We’re thinking ahead and asking families to use their best creative thinking to imagine different ways we can hold graduation ceremonies.

We are sending an invite directly to Grade 12 students to ask them to participate and share their ideas.

As parents/guardians and caregivers, we’re also asking you for your ideas. If we end up having to hold graduation ceremonies under COVID restrictions, what are your ideas for how best to do that, if:

  • We are under stay-at-home orders?
  • We can leave our homes but cannot congregate anywhere?

From February 17-26, please lend us your best creative thinking. Use the link that we have emailed to families to access the Thoughtexchange to share your ideas and see what other families are saying.

Keep in mind that whatever we do must be accessible to all students and families, regardless of their resources, location and ability.

What to expect in the Thoughtexchange:

  • You will see ideas shared by other parents/guardians and caregivers. You can share as many ideas as you like and you can go back into the Thoughtexchange as often as you like. You can signify that you agree with other people’s ideas by assigning stars.
  • The Thoughtexchange is moderated so that statements identifying people or inappropriate statements are removed. However, we cannot guarantee that this will always happen before a statement is seen.

If you have questions, please contact our Research & Analytics Department at [email protected]

Sincerely,

Manny Figueiredo
Director of Education
