Upcoming Lockdown Drill-November 29 at 1:50pm

On Tuesday November 29, we will be practicing this semester’s Lockdown drill at 1:50 pm. The term “Lockdown” is used when there is an incident or threat of serious violence or injury within the school. During a Lockdown, everyone in the school will hear an announcement as follows: “This is a Lockdown”.

During this time, staff and students are to remain in their classes or work areas and away from the door until further notice. Anyone who finds themselves outside of a classroom should go to the nearest accessible room, including a washroom, and close the door. While in lockdown all personnel should remain quiet and turn off cell phones (as they may alert the intruder to your presence). As always, students are also expected to follow the directions of their teacher.

We will be following the standard lockdown protocol which teachers will review with their students prior to the drill.

Once again, in an effort to avoid creating any panic or anxiety, Saltfleet High School will be having a lockdown drill in the afternoon, on Tuesday November 29 at 1:50 pm. Students are reminded to remain silent and to follow the directions of their teacher. If any students have any concerns they should feel free to share them with a teacher or staff member.
