Letter for families transitioning from remote to in-person learning

Dear families transitioning from the Remote Elementary Learning Program,

We want to thank you for having your child be part of the Remote Elementary Learning Program. We appreciate the patience you showed as we worked to meet the needs of an overwhelming number of students who chose this method of learning in an unprecedented year.

As you transition back to an in-person learning, we want to remind you of a few things to help ease this transition. Safety is of primary importance for the restarting of in-school attendance. Please see this HWDSB web page for a review of the Enhanced Public Health measures that are in place.

Enhanced Public Health Measures

Your child’s school will be contacting you regarding the return to school either on Monday, Feb. 22 or Tuesday, Feb. 23. They will share information specific to the individual school at this time.

Please remember to log into the Parent Portal to complete your attestation form for each child who will be attending school in person next week. This attestation is required to be completed before your child will be able to enter the school.

If you have received a device from HWDSB for the Remote Elementary Learning Program, this device will be locked over the weekend. Please take the device with you to your new school and return it to the main office. We need these devices returned to help support other students learning remotely.

We hope that our new Remote Elementary Learning Program met your needs and your child’s needs. We wish you and your family all the best within the HWDSB as you move back into in-person learning.

Sincerely,

Tannis Hamill, Grades 1-3, Principal

Vera Prpa, Grades 4-8, Principal

Mubina Panju, Kindergarten, French Immersion and Programs of Choice, Principal
