Update for Families September 29, 2020

Ray Lewis Families,

Nutrition Break #2:

A reminder that students who go home for lunch during second nutrition break are to go directly home and then return to school. They are not to be going out for lunch or going home with any friends.

Morning Screenings at Home:

Thank-you for doing the morning screening each day before your child comes to school. Please continue to do these important screenings.

This decision guide flow chart will help determine next steps when your child displays a symptom from the screening tool at home: COVID At Home Protocol

At School

If your child exhibits a symptom from the screening tool at school, we will follow this decision guide flow chart: COVID At School Protocol.

This My Child Has COVID Symptoms document lists the symptoms that we check for and explains the next steps for students who show a potential symptom of Covid at school.

Pre-existing Conditions / Known Causes

Some of our students have known causes or pre-existing conditions that would have them display a symptom from the screening tool.

For example, a student who has seasonal allergies might normally display a cough and a runny nose.  If we do not know this and the student is coughing and has a runny nose, then we will have to follow the follow flow chart (COVID At School Protocol).

Or for example, your child takes medication that might cause an upset stomach.  If we do not know this, we will have to follow the flow chart (COVID At School Protocol).

Please email or phone the school if your child has a known cause or condition that would display itself as a symptom.  Families are encouraged to provide this information as early as possible, before the symptoms display themselves.

Orange Shirt Day
Tomorrow we will recognize Orange Shirt Day. We encourage students to wear orange tomorrow to honour the lives lost and survivors of Residential Schools

Thank you for helping us keep all of our student safe!

Ms. Burleigh
