Fall Reorganization at QM

RE: Class Reorganization
Each fall, HWDSB reviews elementary student enrolment in schools, and reorganizes staffing if actual enrolment differs from spring projections. It is normal for student enrolment to fluctuate a little.
This year, the fall reorganization is more widespread in our board due to the in-person/remote option for students, as well as the ongoing need to meet provincial class size requirements.
Specifically, for our school, the reorganization will mean the loss of one JK/SK class. Some changes to classes will be happening for some JK/SK students (approximately 25 students). We will also be changing a grade 2 class to a 2/3 class and adjusting some junior and intermediate (4-8) classes. These changes should impact approximately 30 students. The changes will start on Friday October 7th. Letters to families for students who will have a class change will be coming home next week.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Please know that we work together as a staff to consider the needs of our students and the compositions of classes for balance and needs of our students. Our teachers work in teams and will take care together to help children through this transition.
As always, our team of dedicated educators will work with you to ensure your child is well supported and experiences educational success. Our Educator Meet and Greet will be held from 4-5:30 PM on October 11th. We hope you will be able to join us to meet your child’s teacher.
