Message from The Principal

Greetings, Orchard Park Parents/Guardians and Students:

Message From: Interim Principal, Brian Lennox

We are looking forward to beginning semester two with all of you.

I would like to start this email by introducing myself to you as the Interim Principal of Orchard Park. I began this assignment on Monday of this week. Also joining our Administration Team as Interim Vice-Principal is Ms. Sofia Fox. Mr. Mark Hopman will continue as Vice-Principal for semester two.

Over this past week, our teachers and support staff have been preparing to welcome our students back for semester two. We are planning to have welcome back assemblies next week where we will have the opportunity to introduce ourselves and to share key information to support everyone’s success for semester two.

I have had the opportunity this week to meet with our staff and we are all committed to supporting our students as they work through their courses of study this semester. Please feel free to reach out to us when you require our assistance. Orchard Park has a rich tradition of supporting student needs in our community and all of us are committed to building strong relationships with all members of our community.

Semester 2 Timetable Changes

For students that need timetable changes, the deadline to do so is Friday February 10th. When making appointments for changes it is important to note that the schedule is very tight and there is very little room in classes to make unneeded changes. Also, important to note that eLearning classes are also currently full and closed and have very long waitlists. Counsellors will not make changes based on Lunch requests or Teacher requests.

Course Selection for the 2023/2024 School Year

The course selection process to pick classes for next year will start on Thursday February 9th and end on March 3rd 2023.

Student will again this year select their options (their courses of study) through a software program called Xello. The details of this program will be shared with our student via their HUB and Counsellors will be available to help students with their pathway planning and course selections as needed.

These specifics around choosing their options will also be presented during our welcome back assemblies next week. Please reach out to us if you have any questions.
