Semester 2 Bell Schedule effective Monday February 8, 2021

Good day Patriot families!

We are excited to welcome our Patriots back to face-to-face learning on Monday, February 8th. Please see a variety of reminders below to help ensure a smooth and safe transition back to the school building.
Schedule:
  • we will return to the adaptive rotational model. So Monday will be Period 1 classes as face-to-face for 150 minutes in the morning, followed by period 2, 3/4 & 5 being remote learning in the afternoon. Schedules and calendars can be found on the school website for more details.
  • SEM 2 OP Regular Bell Schedule ROTATION 1
Daily Connection:
  • While students continue to be cohorted and only attend school on their assigned day, all students can expect a minimum of 30 minutes of synchronous learning every day during their morning class. Last semester many students connected with their teacher on their cohort day but worked independently on their non-cohort day. This semester all students can expect increased daily connection with their morning teacher. Your period 1 teacher will share more info about when you should be logging on for attendance and connected learning each day.
Study Hall:
  • there is a study hall available for students who need to remain at school for the full day (ie: due to transportation, wifi needs…).
  • please ensure you have indicated in the Parent Portal where your child is doing their afternoon remote learning. If your preference has not changed from semester 1 then no action is needed.
Cohorts:
  • you can find your child’s cohort on their timetable or in the Parent Portal
  • if your child’s cohort needs to change for some reason, you will receive a phone call from a VP
  • Monday will be a cohort A day
Semester 1 learning materials:
  • any semester 1 learning materials can be brought to school next week and will be collected by your period 1 teacher
At-Home Learners:
  • We maintain a list of students who do not come to the school building for any face-to-face learning. If you are opting for your child to do all of their learning from home (am and pm) please ensure that you contact the main office (x3701) to have your child added to this list. If you indicated a preference for at-home learning last semester there is no action needed. We just need to hear from families who did face-to-face learning last semester and are now changing to at-home learning.
Enhanced Safety Reminders:
  • students are reminded to wear their masks to school and maintain their distance from others while in the building
  • hand sanitizer is available at every door. Students are encouraged to wash/sanitize their hands frequently
  • we know many students will be excited to see their friends again, but students are reminded not to congregate inside or outside the school
  • students need to complete their daily screening. They are asked to take a screenshot of their “green check mark” to show to their period 1 teacher. Students who don’t pass the daily screening should not be coming to school.
New to OP?:
  • the teacher librarian will be in touch with you next week to ensure you are set up with an iPad and answer any questions you may have. Welcome new Patriots.
As always, please reach out to the school if you have questions or concerns.
Take care Patriots…. and we look forward to seeing you next week!
