End of Semester Reminders

Good day Patriot families,
I hope this email finds you well during some very challenging times. Below, please find a number of reminders about the end of this semester, and the beginning of a new semester:
Student Success Days:
  • Exams have been cancelled this year. In their place we will be having Student Success days which will support students in obtaining credits towards their graduation plan.
  • All culminating activities for all classes should be submitted this Thursday (Jan 21st). This is the last day for “regular” classes.
  • Teachers will be connecting with students who have a mark less than 50% on Friday, January 22nd in order to develop Student Success plans for the following week.
  • Jan 25-28 will be Student Success days where students will have the opportunity to complete missing assignments to help earn their credits. Please connect with your classroom teacher if you have questions about outstanding work.
  • All work must be submitted by noon on Thursday, January 28th to give teachers a chance to evaluate the work, and to write report cards prior to the start of semester 2.
Special Classes:
  • Students in our self-contained special education classes will continue to attend school until Friday, January 29th.
  • Monday, February 1st is a PA day and there will be no school for students.
Semester 2:
  • The first day of the new semester is Tuesday, February 2nd.
  • Guidance counsellors are available if your student needs to talk about their course selections, post-secondary options, or their graduation plan. Appointments are held using MS Teams or on the phone.
  • Semester 2 timetables will be emailed out shortly
  • The semester will start off virtually. Students in regular classes across HWDSB will be learning online until at least February 10th. More information to come about the return to face-to-face learning.
