January 2022 Principal Update

Dear Norwood Park Families 

Welcome Back to all families – those in person and those engaging in short term virtual learning.  Educators are excited to see students again. Thank you to all our families for your support, patience and kindness during virtual learning.  

Staff Updates 

We are pleased to announce Mme Miscas has been promoted from Vice Principal to Principal at Greensville Elementary School effective February 1st, 2022. Mme Barlow, currently Vice Principal with Strathcona Elementary, is the new Vice Principal shared between Norwood Park and G. L. Armstrong. Welcome Mme Barlow! 

Winter Drop Off & Pick Up 

As the roads become trickier to navigate because they are lined with snowbanks, we would like to remind parents and caregivers to continue to be respectful neighbours when picking up or dropping off your children. Please only YMCA families and HWDSB educators and staff may access the school parking lot. We’ve had some visits from bylaw officers during the morning and afternoon high traffic times around the school this week. Please be mindful of the posted parking regulations. Please note the parking lot for the small church at the corner of South Bend and Warren is available for NP families to park. 

COVID 19 

Please continue to follow HWDSB’s website for up-to-date information around COVID 19. All people coming to school need to do a daily COVID screen and record this information for their child’s teacher. If your child fails, the daily screener, they need to stay home for the period outlines. Each day office staff call families that have not completed the screener.
