April Principal’s Message

Hello Norwood Park Families,

We hope you enjoyed a relaxing postponed March Break in April. We heard from the Ministry of Education that all schools would not be returning to in-person learning after the break. I want to thank you for your patience while we moved back to remote learning. It has been another year where we have faced a lot of challenges and I am proud of the way our families, staff and students have adapted to all the changes.

While we are returning to remote learning until further notice, the learning we do together is important and attendance is still taken each day. Mme Giles and I enjoy having the opportunity to ‘visit’ our virtual classes and see our students engaging in their learning with classmates and their teachers.

Please continue reach out to your teacher or the school if you require support during this time. There are also many resources available online to support remote learning. Please find a list of resources linked below.

Rescheduled Photo Days

Due to the Ministerial Order to move all schools to remote learning for the time being, we have had to cancel our School Photo Day for Wednesday, May 5th and our Grade 8 Grad Photo Day for Friday, May 7th.

We will let families know if we reschedule these dates in the coming weeks.

Final Transition Day

The HWDSB’s third and final opportunity for families to transition between the Elementary Remote Learning Program and in-person this spring has been put on pause while all schools are currently in remote learning

We will share more information on this final transition date once we receive direction from the Ministry of Education about if and when it is safe to return to in-person learning.
