Letter – Mount Hope tragic incident

Dear Families,

Today we were shaken to learn that a violent incident affected a family in our community. As a caring school, we extend our thoughts to the family and wish them strength.

This type of rare event can be very distressing and can impact each of us differently, with feelings of sadness, grief, helplessness, anxiety or anger.

If you require support, the following organizations offer crisis support:

• COAST Hamilton, 905-972-8338, for crisis outreach and support for all ages
• Kids Help Phone, 1-800-668-6868, for counselling and information service for young people

Social workers and other supports are in place at our school, for students and staff who may be struggling.
