Mary Hopkins News – May 9th

Hello Mary Hopkins Community!

Last Thursday was our Jump Rope for Heart Event and we could not have asked for a better day! The weather was AMAZING and it was so nice to see everyone outside jumping, skipping, hopping, laughing, smiling and having a fantastic time. (It appears that the Obstacle Course and Kangaroo Fitness Factory were some of the favourite centres 😉) A special thank-you to our Grade 5 helpers who did an excellent job of helping us run the stations for our younger students after participating in the event in the morning block.  It was so nice to be able to see them put their leadership skills to work for this event 😊

Our donations are still coming in!  THANK-YOU to all our staff, students, families and community that have donated to this worthwhile cause.  We surpassed our goal of $2000.00 and have already raised over $6000.00!!  WOW!!   Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!

We will continue to accept donations until the end of the week (May 13th) and then we will close the fundraising and tally our totals.

Thanks again for making our day JUMP-CREDIBLE!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Lisinski and Mrs. Widdup

Jump Rope Co-ordinators

Family Literacy Month Update

Dear families,
As we continue to celebrate Family Literacy Month at Mary Hopkins, we will have another draw at the end of this week for a 25-dollar gift card to Indigo. All students are invited to participate in some of the literacy activities in the link below at home with family and then bring a signed copy with the activities circled on it back to school by this Friday to be entered into the draw for the gift card. We hope our families will enjoy participating in these activities together! Please see the link below for the activity sheet.
(If you are unable to print, please have your child let their teacher know, copies are available at the school).
