Good Evening Families

The first day of school is finally around the corner and our staff members are getting the last pieces in place to welcome our students back.  For those families celebrating Rosh Hashana, we wish you Shana Tova.

During last week’s PD Day, our staff members participated in an outdoor meet and greet.  It was restorative to finally come together again, as well as meet our new staff members.  When our students return this week, we hope the in-person reconnection will also help support their well-being and assist them in reengaging with the school, their teachers and peers. Our staff will also be planning daily activities specifically focused around wellness and well-being.  Families interested in finding out more can visit the following link which provides background information and example activities. Attestations – There are two attestations for families to completed.

  1. Before the first day, we require that you complete an attestation that confirms you have read, understood, and will abide by expectations. This can be completed on the Parent Portal or via this form Return-to-School-Attestation-2021-2022.pdf .  Additional print copies will be available on the first day.
  2. A daily screening process will be implemented for at least the first two weeks. Families will receive a calendar on the first day of school. Please sign and return this calendar each morning. If your child does not have verification, they will remain in class, with a mask and distanced. Parents will be contacted to verify screening

Remote Transition Date – HWDSB will open a survey in the Parent Portal between September 3rd and 10th to allow families to choose to switch between remote learning and in-person learning (either direction). Students will start new placements in October as part of the re-organization process.  No further action is required if you are not seeking a change.

Covid 19 Protocols – One of the questions parents have asked is what will school look like when my child returns.  We are pleased to share our school-based plan with families. This plan will be revised and updated as we further refine our protocols. Elementary Site Specific Plan – 2021 2022
