Nutrition Program

A+ A-

Lawfield Elementary has a nutrition program three days each week wherein volunteers prepare healthy and nutritious snacks for our students. This year’s goal of the Program will be to serve healthy nut-free snacks to students on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

We are always looking for more volunteer help preparing and delivering food bins to the classrooms in the mornings, and could use support in the afternoons to collect and wash bins. Please contact the school if you are interested in joining our dedicated team.

Hamilton TasteBuds food4kids
Tastebuds Hamilton is Hamilton`s Student Nutrition Collaborative and a generous sponsor of our program.  Food4Kids is a non-profit organization that provides healthy food packages to Lawfield students each week.

These programs support Lawfield students by providing healthy food and packages! They make a difference.

The Ministry of Children and Youth Services (MCYS) provides 15% of our Program Funding through Hamilton Tastebuds, so we rely on heavily on fundraising and donations. Families who make a cash donation of $20 or greater will receive a Charitable Donation Tax Receipt. Grocery store gift cards are also happily accepted as we shop the sales, especially for dry goods. If you would like to contribute food, please only send items that appear in the list below; we have strict food guidelines under the Student Nutrition Policy and MCYS funding policy to which we must adhere.
