Athletics have started!

Athletics have started at Greensville school!

We have been receiving emails from the athletics department daily to get things started this year.  So far we have the Junior (Grade 6-7) and Senior (Grade 8) 3-Pitch coaches on board and tryouts/practices are in full swing.

Cross country will get going this week as well.  Mrs. Kosempel will be putting sign up sheets outside of the gym and discuss with PE classes for students who are interested.

There will be a central meet for Grade 6-8 @ Christie Conservation area in October.  There is no central meet scheduled for the Grade 3-5 students this year.  We will hold an event for them at school in October.

Volleyball will get going by the end of the month.  Teams and coaches are as follows:

Senior girls – Mrs. Kosempel

Senior boys – Mr. Adamczyk

Junior girls – Mr. Duggan and Mrs. Kott

Junior boys- Ms. McPhail

Students should listen to the announcements for meetings and tryout dates.  Mrs. Kosempel has a meeting on Tuesday, September 21st to get more information.

Mrs. Kosempel and Ms. B will be coaching the Swim Team for Grade 3-5.  There will be 5 sessions at the pool but there will be no central meet. 4 practices and the final practice will be a school meet.  Mrs. Kosempel has a meeting on the 20th to determine pool times etc.

Some important guidelines this year.  Transportation to activities is not provided. (Not sure about cross country yet).

No spectators allowed.

Masks should be worn by all coaches and players on the bench but can be removed during play if appropriate indoors and may be removed outdoors

More guidelines will be shared with students during tryouts as needed.

Please be patient and understanding with the coaches as we are getting information on the fly and delivering it as we get it.
