Secondary Second Semester Update
Dear Families,
We wanted to share information with families about the Ministry of Education’s announcement related to secondary learning model for semester two of the 2021-22 school year.
On November 18, 2021, the Ministry announced that all secondary schools will be able to return to the normal semester model with four courses a day in 2022. This change from the current quadmester learning model back to the four-course model is one more step towards stability for students and will take effect from the start of the second semester in February 2022, with the support by the local medical officer of health.
The return to the normal semester model is due in part to the high rates of vaccinations amongst youth, and to support more normal school activities. While many have eagerly awaited this announcement, we understand that it brings more change for our schools.
As we prepare for the transition, we will seek student and staff input on how to best support the return to the regular semester model for second term. More information will be shared with families once plans are finalized.
