A Few Updates

Hello Dundas Central Families,

Our thanks for a smooth transition these past days as we begin this school year.  Staff and students are settling in nicely with routines, and with one another.  It is so good to be back at school together.  A few messages as the days unfold:

1. This year all students are required to complete  daily covid -19 screening.  This can be completed online each day before school entry by accessing  https://covid-19.ontarioca/school-screeing/.  If you are unable to complete the daily screening electronically, all students have been provided a paper verification log in their school agenda.  Please initial this log each day as you send your child to school.  This is a requirement for all students to attend each day.
2. Terry Fox Run – Our Annual Terry Fox Run will be held on Tuesday September 14th, (rain date September 16th).  Students will run the perimeter of our school grounds in cohorts supervised by staff.  Please consider making a donation to the Terry Fox Foundation through school cash online.
3. School Council Fundraising – Mable’s Labels will run until September 30th.  Information to come!
4. School Council Fundraising – Dundas Central Spirit Wear will run from September 20-October 22.  Look for more information arriving to your inbox soon.
5. Athletics – We are pleased to be running Board initiated athletics this Fall.  3 Pitch, (Grades 6-8) Cross Country (all divisions), and Volleyball (Grades 6-8) and Swimming (Grades 3-5) will be offered to our students.  Mr. Verschoor will be sending home information and forms regarding tryouts in the next few days.
6. School Council – our elections and first meeting are planned for September 30th (elections from 5:30-6:00 pm and first meeting from 6:00-7:00 pm) .  We are awaiting an update on procedures for meetings this year and will communicate information about joining School Council in the very near future.
