Update from Dundana – Monday November 7

UPDATE: HWDSB HAS COMMUNICATED THAT SCHOOLS WILL BE OPEN FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF TO RESUME REGULAR, IN-CLASS LEARNING ON TUESDAY NOVEMBER 8TH.

More information will be shared directly with grade 4 students/families about CCAT testing rescheduling.

After School Tutoring Programs will resume as of November 8th.

Umbrella students and families should consult with Umbrella directly about their program, as no update has been received at the school level as of yet.

We believe the School Dental Screening Clinic will occur on November 9th.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked through many changes in messaging today. We look forward to having the students and staff back at school tomorrow!

As you know, HWDSB schools are closed to students beginning today (Monday November 7th). Monday has been assigned as independent learning for all students. Individual educators will not be assigning student work for today, but families who wish to access work materials for their child(ren) are encouraged to find them here:  https://www.hwdsb.on.ca/learn-at-home/

Educators will be in touch with families today to talk about learning options for your child, beginning tomorrow. Unlike previous school closures in recent years, school devices will not be provided to families who need them to access online learning. Paper-based packages that can be picked up at the school will be available each day during school hours for individual pick up. To start, the packages are general but over the next few days, classroom educators may indicate other, grade- or class-specific packages that you can pick up as well.

In addition to the change in learning format, a number of school-based plans have been paused or changed:

-November 7th – School Council meeting is now online via MS Teams at 6:30 p.m.

-CCAT testing for grade 4 students is now paused until in-person schooling resumes. Notification of rescheduling will follow.

-November 9th – School Dental Screening Clinic is now paused until in-person schooling resumes. Notification of rescheduling will follow.
