Volunteering at Dundana

HWDSB recognizes the important role of volunteers in its organization. At Dundana, volunteers contribute to enrich student educational experiences in a number of ways, such as:

  • supporting school educators as additional supervisors on extra curricular activities (e.g. sports meets, artistic events)
  • supporting school educators as additional supervisors on class excursions
  • coach/instructor in addition to school educator for extra curricular activities (e.g. sports co-coach)
  • in class support, at the discretion of the educator
  • driving students to extracurricular events (e.g. sports meet)

To volunteer at Dundana, the following is required:

  • a completed Volunteer Agreement, yearly
  • Vulnerable Sector Screen, once every three years (shown within 6 months of issue)
  • Offence Declaration, yearly
  • review of Volunteer video and handbook (provided by Principal)
  • additional training, if needed (e.g. concussion training for coaches, emergency evacuation procedures for in school volunteers)

If you are interested in receiving a volunteer package electronically, please email [email protected]

If you would like a paper copy of the package, please drop by the school office or ask for one to be sent home with your child.

Thank you for considering volunteering at Dundana. Many events and activities just couldn’t occur without volunteers. We are excited to get to partner with parents/guardians/other volunteers to start to engage in these activities once again.
