Re-organized Classes to Begin November 3, 2020

Students will begin in their re-organized classes, with their new educators (if applicable) beginning Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

On November 2, student materials will be moved at the end of the day and cleaning of classroom surfaces will be completed to prepare for the new cohorts of students.

To further prepare for these new cohorts within the school, there will also be some changes to our playground class zones beginning Tuesday.  Information about the cohort space will be on the playground itself, and teachers will come out at 8:55 with signs to direct anyone unsure of where to go.  As well, Mrs. Keery Bishop will be on the perimeter of the playground between 8:40 and 8:55.  If your child is unsure about where to go, please direct them to her and she will help them find their zone.

While classroom set ups may have been altered to accommodate the re-organized classes, all set ups have been checked to ensure students are seated with 1 m distance between them.  We will continue to remind students regularly about their responsibilities to distance from one another, wear masks when inside or close to another cohort, and to practice good hand hygiene.

Students who ride on the bus may also have adjustments to their seating plan with the new changes.  This will be communicated to applicable students and the bus drivers in the afternoon of November 3.

We know that re-organization is very difficult on students.  Staff will be working in the upcoming days and weeks with their classes to develop a renewed sense of community amongst their students.  As a school, we continue to focus on the priorities of being responsible, respectful, safe and kind and continually ask students to reflect on their actions in light of these priorities.
