School Council Election and First Meeting Information

Thank you for your patience as the Ministry of Education and HWDSB worked out arrangements to help our schools initiate School Councils this year in a way that supports participant safety.  School Council is such an important part of a school community; we invite all of our families to consider if they would like to be involved.

Please find attached information about the Dundana School Council and election information.

If you are interested in joining the council and can commit to attending meetings throughout the year, you are encouraged to self nominate for a council member (member at large) or executive position.  During this first meeting, we will set the meeting dates for the remainder of the year.  At this point, we anticipate this meeting in October, then meetings in November, January, March and May.  All meetings will be held virtually using the platform of MS Teams.  Participants would be able to participate using a device (phone, tablet, laptop) or by calling in using a phone line.

Nomination forms are due back at the school on Tuesday, October 13.  They can be emailed to [email protected] or you can send a hard copy with your child to school to bring down to Mrs. Keery Bishop’s office.

Please note that any parent/guardian/caregiver is welcome to attend any council meeting.  Only members, however, will be able to vote on motions.

Our meeting will be held on Thursday, October 15 at 6:30 p.m.  A link will be shared next week for participants to join the meeting.
