Hold and Secure Drill Planned

Every year, each school is responsible for holding a number of safety drills in compliance with the Secure School Protocol.  On Wednesday, October 30, Dundana will participate in the annual Hold and Secure drill.  This drill will occur at approximately 11:20 a.m. and last for approximately 10 minutes.

Here is the procedure we follow during our Hold and Secure Drill:

• Announce ‘Hold and Secure’ on the PA system using a standard announcement;
• Lock exterior doors;
• Dim lights and draw blinds, where possible;

All movement into and out of school is restricted;
• Assign staff member near each entrance to ensure no one leaves the building;
• The school continues to function normally;
• An announcement is made to end ‘Hold and Secure’.

If arriving at the school during our drill, access will be restricted until the drill is over.  We thank you for your patience as we practise these important safety procedures.
