Happy Family Day! I hope you had a great weekend with friends and family!
Thank you for taking the time to bring your classes down to the Auditorium for the Option Sheet information sessions last Tuesday. As we prepare to enter option sheet time, this gave Student Services an opportunity to explain to students the process this year as well as what is needed for the completion of an OSSD.
Thank you to all the staff who helped with the Option Sheet Fair in the cafeteria on Wednesday at lunch. Students were able to ask questions about specific programs and learn more about the courses they would like next year.
Last Thursday and Friday, Ms. Wilson and Mr. Corey began feeder school visits around course selections. Thank you for helping our future students choose the courses the need to start their high school career off on the right foot!
Last Thursday, Mr. Connelly, Mr. Mclean and Mr. Thomas participated in the Literacy Gap closing session to further their understanding of literacy strategies in the classroom. We hope to be able to learn more about instruction in the classroom and how it can play a role across different curriculum.
On Thursday, I had the opportunity to travel to the District School Board of Niagara’s Academy school in St. Catharine’s to learn more about integrated arts, technology and Design Thinking. It was a great day of learning and connecting, with some good connections around inquiry and brainstorming.
The Renewed Math Strategy team is pulling together all of the Math Heads, Assistant Heads and Principals on Monday to learn more about each school’s Continuous Learning teams. This will give us a chance to compare what is working and what needs to be done in our school teams.
Student Success will be holding their February meeting on Wednesday at the Ed Centre. Thank you in advance to Ms. Ruggieri, Ms. Wilson and Ms. Duncan for representing Delta at these meetings.
