Central – Final Weekly Update – June 27-June 30, 2022

Central Families,

As we approach the last few days of the school year I want to extend a big thank you to all students, staff and families for their perseverance and understanding during this very challenging school year. Although there have been several unforeseen obstacles to overcome we have managed to successfully complete the 2021-22 school year and thanks to everyone the school year has been incredibly busy and filled with engaging learning and events for our students. Good luck to all of the students moving on to Grade 6 and to those leaving Central this year as well. We wish all of you well as you start new chapters in your lives!

Please be sure to relax and reset over the summer and be sure to enjoy time with family and friends. We look forward to seeing everyone on the first day,  Tuesday, September 6th. Students in their second year of Kindergarten will start on Wednesday, September 7th. Enjoy your summer break!

Please be sure to contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions about report cards. Information regarding students classes and teachers for next year will be posted in the parent portal soon but we will also have students visit their rooms and most of the teachers for next year on the last day of school. Remind students to bring home all belongings in their desks, lockers, cubbies etc. and to check the lost and found in the office as well to claim any items.

A special thanks to the following staff that will be greatly missed as they will be leaving us and working in new schools: Ms. Fothergill & Mr. Kore (our ESL teachers both moving on to other locations for September)  All the best to: Ms. Jude, Mr. Eaton, Ms. Yavorska, Ms. Kosakowski, Mr. Jones, Ms. Wall, Mr. Esione,  Ms. Peterson, Ms. Pettinaro. A special good bye and all the best in your retirement Mr. Bouwman. You have been a very important teacher at Central and other schools in the HWDSB for several years and we all extend our appreciation for all that you have done for  our staff, students and families.
