HWDSB Flags Being Lowered for 751 Unmarked Graves at Cowessess First Nation

HWDSB will join all Ontario government buildings by flying flags at half-mast until further notice, in memory of the 751 unmarked graves at the former Marieval Indian Residential School on Cowessess First Nation in Saskatchewan.

We do this to honour the young Indigenous ancestors, families, nations and communities grieving at this time – and calling for change. We extend our condolences to the victims, survivors, families and those who continue to be impacted by residential schools.
