HWDSB and HPHS Encourage Vaccination

Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) and Hamilton Public Health Services (HPHS) encourage children and youth vaccination as a safe and effective way to contain the spread of COVID-19 and the highly transmissible Omicron variant.

Starting today (Monday, January 10, 2022) all individuals in the community aged 5 to 11 can walk into select vaccine clinics to receive a vaccine.

The list of participating clinics will soon expand beyond the select clinics now at Lime Ridge Mall and the Centre on Barton. See clinic locations, hours and booking details at www.hamilton.ca/GetYourVaccine

Booking Appointments

Outside of these select walk-in clinics, children aged 5 to 11 require vaccination appointments to ensure the proper vaccine dose is available.

Appointments are not required for individuals age 12+ receiving first or second doses.

Most individuals must wait at least 84 days (or at least 3 months) after their second dose to receive a third/booster dose. Check the date you are eligible for a booster dose.

Book your vaccine appointment online if you:

  • Have an Ontario health card (green photo health card OR red and white health card)
  • Have an email address OR a cell phone that can receive SMS messages (texts)

If you do not have access to online booking, call the COVID-19 Vaccine Hotline at 905-974-9848, option 7 to book an appointment. Residents are also encouraged to check in with their local participating pharmacies.
