Bullying Prevention and Awareness Week – A Message from HWDSB
Dear HWDSB Community,
As we approach Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week, I want to take a moment to reflect on the importance of fostering a school environment where every student feels safe, valued, and supported.
This week is an opportunity for all of us—community, students, staff, and families —to come together to raise awareness about the impact of bullying and to reinforce our commitment to kindness, respect, and inclusion.
Bullying is never acceptable, and its effects can be long-lasting. However, by standing united, we have the power to make a difference. Our learning and workspaces seek to encourage empathy, celebrate diversity, and promote positive behaviours that help prevent bullying in all its forms.
Throughout this week, HWDSB will be engaging in various activities that help to raise awareness, educate our students about the consequences of bullying, and provide them with the tools they need to respond to bullying, both as individuals and as a community. We will also be highlighting the importance of standing up for one another and creating a culture of care and respect. And, for more information about how HWDSB works to ensure all of our spaces are safe and welcoming, click here.
I encourage you to take part in this important initiative. Together, we can create a positive and inclusive environment where everyone can learn, grow, and thrive without fear of bullying.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we work together to make HWDSB schools a place where dignity, compassion, trust and joy are at the forefront of all we do.
At HWDSB this week serves as a reminder of our shared commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for all.
With care and kindness,
