Term 1 Report Cards

BG Families,

Term 1 Report Cards will be sent home through School Messenger Friday, February 19.

Students will be receiving their Term 1 Communication of Learning (FDK) or Term 1 Report Card (gr1-8) through School Messenger Friday, February 19. Paper copies will be provided at a later date.

Please take the time to review the report with your child.  As the mid-point in the school year it’s a great opportunity to recognize and celebrate accomplishments.  Please work through the Student/Parent Comment Section (page 4 for gr1-8/page 3 for kindergartens).  This is an excellent opportunity to reflect with your child(ren) on their progress to date and set some goals for the remainder of the school year.

For grades 1-8, you will notice a change to the Mathematics section this year.  The Ministry of Education released a new Mathematics Curriculum this year that your child’s teacher has been using to program and guide the Mathematics lessons taking place in class. This new curriculum introduces a more cohesive approach to assessing mathematics. Previously, students would receive a separate grade on each of the five strands (categories) covered in class on their February and June report cards. The new curriculum introduces a single grade to reflect the overall learning of the student in mathematics.
