Happy New Year Billy Green Families!

We welcome everyone back and hope for a very healthy and prosperous 2021. We hope that everyone had some quality family time over the last couple of weeks and that everyone is safe and healthy.

Our educators spent yesterday preparing for online learning for the rest of this week (January 5-8). As with in-person learning, student attendance will be taken at the start of period 1 (by 9:00a.m.) and period 7 (2:00 p.m.) each day of remote learning.  If your child is going to be away for part or a whole day from the learning, please continue to use our online student attendance system to report your child’s absence, as you would do for in-person learning.

Devices have now been distributed to our Grade 1 to 8 families who made requests using the Remote Readiness survey last month.  At this time, no devices are being distributed to Kindergarten families by HWDSB.  If your Kindergarten child is not able to join remotely to online learning this week, you can access this offline learning package (Kindergarten Learning Calendar Jan. 4th – Jan. 8th) to engage your child in learning.

If your Grade 1 to 8 child is still in need of a device to make online learning achievable this week, please contact me ([email protected]) and I’ll see what we can to access one for you.

Switching to remote learning can be challenging for students and families to juggle, just as it is for our educators.  Thank-you in advance for your patience and flexibility as we all try to work it out. We appreciate everything that you’re doing at home to support your child.

Elementary schools are planning to resume in-person learning Monday, January 11, 2021.
