Grade 8 Graduation Plans (Update)

Families of BG Class of 2020,

We hope that you’re keeping safe and healthy.  As you know, we have had to cancel our Graduation ceremony for our grade 8s.  We know our grade 8s and their families are disappointed and BG Staff share this disappointment with you. At Billy Green, we have been exploring ways that we can still honour this important milestone as our grade 8s move from elementary to secondary school.

At this time, we are planning a digital presentation for graduates and their families to access. It is our plan that we will share this presentation during our previously scheduled graduation time (Wednesday, June 17 at 4:30pm).  We are continuing to explore how we can provide access to the presentation at other times after this as well.

Additionally, we are developing a plan for ensuring that students receive their final report card, graduation diplomas and any graduation awards that they may receive. We are working with the board and under the guidance of public health to ensure that all plans are developed with the safety of students, families, and staff as a priority.  As our plans develop, we will continue to communicate to you through our school website (www.hwdsb.on.ca/billygreen/), Twitter account (twitter.com/BillyGreenHWDSB), and our grade 8 teachers.
