Bernie Custis – Recipient of a 108 Grey Cup 50/50 Donation
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced (day) the 50/50 draw at the 108th Grey Cup raised a grand total of $200k, with proceeds benefiting three local causes including Bernie Custis Secondary School, the Hamilton Bulldogs’ Foundation and local area minor football associations.
Bernie Custis Secondary School will receive over $65k to help fund the school’s sports programs and help offset the considerable costs associated with various sports programs. BCSS is the only Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board secondary school in Hamilton’s inner-city and this funding will help ensure students.
We are thrilled to be the recipients of this generous gift from our community partner, the Ti-Cats. We believe the impact of this will not only help remove financial barriers for students who wish to participate in athletics but will also help students to increase their knowledge and confidence, leading them to an ongoing lifestyle of active living for years to come have access to safe and up-to-date equipment, access to playing surfaces and transportation to and from practices.
