Fall Reorganization

Dear Parents/Guardians

Each fall, HWDSB reviews elementary student enrolment in schools, and reorganizes staffing if actual enrolment differs from spring projections. It is normal for student enrolment to fluctuate a little. This year, the fall reorganization is more widespread due to the in-person/remote option for students, as well as the ongoing need to meet provincial class size requirements.  We recognize that change can cause of a variety of emotions.

Specifically, at our school, the reorganization will mean:

a) all Grade 1-8 classes will be affected with approximately 40 students needing to change classes

b) all families will receive a letter on Friday Sept. 30 indicating whether or not their child will be changing classes.

c) class building information that was used in the Spring will continue to be considered at this time as best as possible

d) we believe in the ability of our students to be resilient in the face of change and will work with families to support them

e) all classes will participate in Transition activities on October 6

f) reorganized classes begin on October 7
