Update for Families May 13th

The next weeks will pass very quickly with many activities planned! A few reminders:

1. With the nicer weather upon us (hopefully to stay) some of our older students are choosing to walk home after school. If your child has your permission to walk home after school, we do require a written notice, otherwise we are expecting them to be taking the school bus.

2. We will require volunteers to help as chaperones for the upcoming excursions in order for the trip to run. Any parent/caregiver who is available to volunteer is required to have a current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Sector Screening completed. The request for a Vulnerable Sector Screening is available through Hamilton Police. https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/how-to/get-background-check

3. We are in the final stages of preparations for our 2021-2022 Yearbook. Team and club photos will be taken on Tuesday May 17th. A big thank you to the volunteers, student and parent/caregiver, who have been working on this project for many months.

4. Sunflowers for the Red Cross are still available. Please purchase through School Cash online ($2/pkg). Any remaining packages will be sold at our upcoming Open House/Fun Fair, May 26th, 4:30 – 8:00 p.m.

5. Orders for Agendas are due. Our Primary Team will be using these tools to support time management and organization skill development of students. We highly recommend that all Primary students have a School Agenda. They can be purchased through School Cash online. Our Junior and Intermediate teams will rely more on digital organizers however, if your child/ren would do better with a paper Agenda and you wish to purchase one, please place your order on School Cash online.

6. Open House/ Fun Fair – May 26th between 4:30 – 8:00 p.m. Classes will be open between 6-7 p.m. for current families to visit. We will be welcoming our new to Kindergarten families to visit our Kindergarten rooms between 5:00 – 5:30 p.m. There will be a Scholastic Book Fair, BBQ, Silent Auction and more. For the silent auction each class has a themed basket. We are requesting donations from parents/caregivers to be included in the ‘theme basket’. These items are being collected between May 9th and May 20th. Any questions, please contact Ellie Millard at [email protected]

Thank you for your continued support.
