February 8th is Safer Internet Day – Free Parent/Caregiver workshops

Every February on Safer Internet Day (SID), organizations around the world join forces to help make the online world a safer place for young people.

Presented by Public Safety Canada, featuring national experts:

As a parent or caregiver, there’s a lot to learn when it comes to how young people interact online and some of the risks they face. “ONLINE DANGERS: Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Cyberbullying,” an online panel presented by Public Safety Canada, will tackle some of the most difficult topics youth, parents, and caregivers face today – cyberbullying to online child sexual exploitation. A panel of experts from the Canadian Centre for Child ProtectionKids Help Phone and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, will define the issues, tell you what to look out for, and discuss how to talk to your kids about these topics. They’ll also answer any questions you may have so you have the tools and information you need to have open and supportive conversations about online safety.

The English and French panels will be live at the same time on February 8, 2022, from 6-7 P.M. EST. Participants are encouraged to register for a session based on their language preference at https://proofexperiences.swoogo.com/onlinedangers/.

Registration will close an hour before the event.
