Fall Sports Run Down

The fall of 2024 has been full of all things athletic at HWDSB (and more to come next week)! In Cross Country meets, we had almost 5000 student athletes compete across Elementary and Secondary events. HWDSB wishes the best of luck to all of our athletes advancing to OFSAA Cross Country events next week!

Secondary Touch Football changed to Flag Football this year with huge participation for both Girls and grade 9 Boys teams. Huge thank you to our host schools who lead the charge and shared their expertise with us – Westdale SS & Orchard Park SS !

Saltfleet battled to another Field Hockey championship for the Varsity Girls, and Waterdown Varsity boys WALKED OFF a win in the Boys Baseball Championship!  Grade 9 soccer had another great year of participation and competition.

And there’s more to come next week: Varsity Football, Boys Volleyball and Girls Basketball are all fighting their way into playoffs this week for a spot in the Championships on Nov 7, 2024 (Tier 1) and Nov 12, 2024 (Tier 2).
