A Look Back: Girls Water Polo

The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board celebrates the 2019-20 season with a look back at the year that was and honours this year’s most valuable players.

Girls Water Polo

The 2019-20 Girls Water Polo season was paused midway through due to the COVID-19 pandemic and ultimately HWIAC was unable to determine a champion this season.  At the time when play was suspended at March Break, the Westdale Warriors were the cream of the crop sitting with a 6-0 record with 37 goals scored and just six against.  Ancaster was ranked second with a 4-1-1 record and nine points while Waterdown held third place with a 3-1-2 record.   Westdale was seeking their third straight senior girls water polo title in the 2019-20 season.

In junior girls water polo, Orchard Park and Dundas Valley were tied after four games played both holding a 4-0 record at the time of the break.  Orchard Valley was the top scoring offensive team with 20 goals scored compared to Dundas Valley’s 18.  Defensively both squads had only allowed six goals.  Westdale was in third place with a 2-2- record.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no champion was awarded.
