Featured Athlete of the Week – Edward Lof – Guido de Bres

Edward has been an exemplary athlete all four years at Guido de Bres Christian High School!  It began in grade 9 with a championship in grade 9 soccer and then a silver medal in volleyball. That same year he made the varsity soccer team and even cracked the starting lineup. With his contributions the team was silver medalists at OFSAA.  In grade 11, he was a big contributor to the soccer team that won gold at OFSAA in Windsor.  In volleyball, he was a starter with the volleyball team that won an HWIAC championship and the OCSSAA volleyball tournament that includes a large number of OFSAA bound teams.

Edward is a quiet leader, but his game speaks volumes.  He is very self-disciplined and works hard in every sport he plays.  This year, he added ice hockey to his repertoire and became a valuable asset to the team.  His commitment to academics parallels his commitment to sports.  He excels in math and hopes to continue his studies in university with a focus on mathematics.   He is excited about another soccer season – hoping to lead the boys soccer team to another championship.  He continues to take his successes in stride and he keeps a humble perspective and is often encouraging others to reach their full potential.  His coaches enjoy having him on their team and wish him well in his future endeavours.  Edward, you are very deserving of this recognition.
