Extra! Extra! Read All About It!

Now that progress reports have gone home and parent-teacher interviews are underway, I would like to take a moment to pause, reflect and extend a sincere thank you to the staff, students, parents and community partners who are making great things happen for the students of Westview!

Our students have enjoyed a variety of extra-curricular activities in two short months.  Staff have supported Baseball, Volleyball, Cross-country, Intramural Soccer, Coding Club, Dance Club and Cooking Club.  Our Student Council is up and running, and ran its first school event, our Halloween Dance.  Thank you to all the staff that make these activities possible for our students!

Our monthly assemblies have been an important opportunity for us to come together as a community and celebrate so many accomplishments.  Students from every class have been recognized for academics, improvement, involvement and citizenship.  Our September focus on Digital Citizenship has helped us to learn and consider the importance of responsible use of our devices and social media.  Thank you 6A!  Class 7B inspired us to consider the importance of “Mindfulness” to keep us centered, safe and happy.  We are looking forward to our upcoming monthly assemblies to continue our celebrations and reflections.

Lastly, I want to make sure that we extend our gratitude to Tastebuds, First Ontario Credit Union, and the staff and students who run our Nutrition Program!  Working together, this group has ensured our students start their day off right and have access to healthy snacks throughout the day.

Clearly, when we work together we are better!  Thank you to all of you who are making Westview a great place for all!
