Last updated on Thursday, December 29, 2016.

Please find the following link to the minutes of the Transition Committee Meeting held on November 30, 2016.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members of this committee, including parents, teachers, students, Trustee Wards 11 & 12 Alex Johnstone, Superintendent of Student Achievement Mr. Bill Torrens, and his Executive Assistant Michele Lambie.  Your input, energy and work this past year were invaluable to me as we put ideas into action for our new school.  Thank you for your time and voice through this process.    TH COMMITTEE Minutes Nov. 30 2016

Please find the accompanying link to the Minutes of the Transition Committee Meeting held on October 19, 2016.  I have also included a revised Boundary Map which includes the areas for students who are eligible for bus transportation to Tiffany Hills School.  The change to the previous map is that students living along Garner Rd. are now eligible for transportation to Tiffany Hills School.

The creation of the Transition Committees is an integral process in the opening and closing of HWDSB schools. It gives the community an opportunity to voice their collective thoughts, consideration of all the diverse views of the community and students to make the transition as seamless as possible. This is the reason that trustees insist on Transition Committees and the minutes are reported to the Board of Trustees.

The Transition Committee will meet a minimum of five times.

The purpose of the Transition Committee is to represent the community, provide input, advice and recommendations, however the final decisions are made by the Principal and Superintendent.

A brief synopsis of the Transition Committee topics of discussion include:

  • Artifacts and school traditions
  • Opening/closing ceremonies
  • Student transition activities
  • Traffic and transportation issues
  • Accommodation and program issues

All Transition Committee meetings are open to the public, however public members will have no voting rights.
